  • How to add a user to my installation in TaHoma app? (0) 05.03.2026

    Please follow the step-by-step procedure below to add a new user to an already existing TaHoma installation.

     

    In the '…' Menu click on 'User management'​

     
     

    If you have multiple installation select your installation from the dropdown.

    Click on 'Add a new user' to continue

     
     

    Here you can see the list of all users of your installation. ​

     

    By default, there’s only one user ('Me').

    Select user type

     
     

    You now have to choose between the different types of users you want to create.

    Select the equipement (Optional)

     

    This step is only if you selected Guest user type from the previous step.

     

    Name the user

     
     

    Here you can define the name you want to assign to the new user.

    Share the invitation

     
     

    You can now share the invitation to control your home to the new user.

    The user will receive this message to invite him to join the installation.​

  • What are the different types of profile I can assign to a user in TaHoma app? (0) 05.03.2026

    When creating a new user, you will have the choice between 3 user types: Administrator, Resident, and Guest. These 3 types of users will have different permissions and access levels in your home.

     

     

     

    Administrator

    An administrator will have complete access to user management in your home.​

     

    His permissions will include:​

     

    ✅ Control of devices​

    ✅ Adding and removing devices​

    ✅ Launching scenarios​

    ✅ Creating and deleting scenarios​

    ✅ User management and creation​

    ✅ Management of professional interventions

     


     

    Resident

    A resident user will have complete access to your home, except for user management and professional interventions.

     

    His permissions will include:​

     

    ✅ Control of devices​

    ✅ Adding and removing devices​

    ✅ Launching scenarios​

    ✅ Creating and deleting scenarios​

    User management and creation​

    Management of professional interventions

     


     

    Guest

    A guest user will only have access to control equipment, and their access can be restricted to certain devices.​

     

    Their permissions include:

     

    ✅ Control of devices​ (selected during the user creation)

    Adding and removing devices

    Launching scenarios​

    Creating and deleting scenarios

    User management and creation​

    Management of professional interventions

     

     

  • How to remove a user from my installation in TaHoma app? (0) 05.03.2026

    With the new user management feature in TaHoma, you can now add, modify and remove user from your installation. To remove a user from your installation you must be the administrator of the installation.​

     

    In order to remove a user from your installation, you can follow these steps : ​

     

     

    1. Go to the '...' Menu and click on 'User Management'​
    2. Select the profile you want to delete​
    3. Click on the trashcan icon in the top right corner of your screen​
    4. Follow the steps to remove the user

     

     

  • How to update a user from my installation in TaHoma app? (0) 05.03.2026

    With the new user management feature in TaHoma, you can now add, modify and remove user from your installation. To update a user from your installation you have to be the administrator of the installation.

     

    In order to update a user, you can follow these steps:

     

     

    Modify access type of user

     

     

    1. Go to the '...' Menu and click on 'User Management'​
    2. Select the user you want to modify​
    3. Click on the 'Change Access Type' button​
    4. Select the new type of access you want to assign to this user: Administrator, Resident, or Guest

     

     

     


     

     

     

    Modify accessible equipments for a Guest user

     

     

    1. Go to the '...' Menu and click on 'User Management'​
    2. Select the user you want to modify​
    3. Click on the 'Accessible equipment' button​
    4. Add or remove equipment from their authorization

     

     

  • How to merge my TaHoma installations into one account if the migration prompt does not appear automatically in the app? (0) 29.01.2026

    TaHoma now supports multiple installations for the same user. Thanks to this feature, you can keep just one email for all your installations.


    The application should prompt you to merge all your installations into the same account. If this does not happen, or if an error occurs during the migration, please follow these procedure.

     



    Background:

    You have two TaHoma on two different Somfy accounts (A & B) linked to two different sites (A & B).


    When you are logged into one account and want to access another one on the TaHoma app, you currently need to log out and log back in with the other account.


    The multi-sites / multi-users features allows you to merge all your sites on one account.

     


     

    1. Log in to the account you do not wish to keep after the migration (B)


    Then go to 'User Management' in the '...' menu.

     

    2. Click on the button: '+ Add a new user'

     

    3. Select 'Administrator' user role

     

    4. Name the user and click on 'Next'

     

    5. Share the invitation to yourself

     

    You can do it by message, email or just copy/paste the invitation link into the address bar of your phone's browser

     

    6. Before opening the invitation link, log out of this account (B)

     

    7. Then log in to the main account (A)

     

    8. Open on the invitation link shared previously

     

    This should open your application with a popup asking you to accept the invitation. Accept it.

     

    9. You can now switch between installations while staying logged into the same account.

     

    10. Optionnal: If you want to remove the secondary account

     

    Go to 'User management' in the '...' menu and click on Account B.

     

    From here, click on the trashcan in the top right corner to remove the Account B from Installation B user's.

  • Which Somfy equipment and products are compatible with Apple HomeKit? (0) 28.08.2025

    A selection of Somfy equipment is compatible with HomeKit* technology through TaHoma®(including TaHoma switch), as per Apple approval:

    • Using io-homecontrol® protocol only HomeKit only allows 2-way radio control of equipment via smart home systems. Consequently: RTS equipment are not compatible with HomeKit (1-way radio control).
    • Excluding equipment allowing access to home.
      HomeKit does not allow such equipment. 
      Consequently: gates, garage doors, windows and doorlocks are not compatible with HomeKit.
    • From specific categories: window coverings and terrace for the moment
      Equipment compatibility are subject to functional validation with the TaHoma® box and HomeKit by Apple teams as part of the certification process. Each piece of equipment must be individually tested and approved by Apple's teams.

    Consequently:
    - For the moment: only window coverings and terrace categories are agreed with Apple.
    - And only a selection of such equipment are compatible (see compatibility list).
    - Potential later addings are subject to further planning from Somfy and Apple, and final approval by Apple.

  • What does HomeKit mean for TaHoma® ecosystem ? (0) 27.08.2025

    TaHoma and TaHoma switch are compatible with Apple Homekit*. Thanks to compatibility, you can control your Somfy home equipment from either Siri or Apple Home app.

    • Siri: simply add voice control to TaHoma® and your home equipment, asking Siri from you Apple devices.
    • Home app: additionally, you can also find your equipment in Apple Home app ready to be controlled from all your Apple devices. Home app is also used to set up your HomeKit installation.
  • How to switch from the Connexoon app to the TaHoma® app?  (0) 23.07.2025

    Please be informed that the Connexoon app will be removed from the store and will become unusable starting November 25, 2025.

     

    As of this date, you will no longer be able to connect to your Connexoon app, which means you will be unable to control your Connexoon.​

    Why not creating a scheduled scene: a simple way to automate your home so your scene plays on a specific time or date.

    Somfy home automation boxes are compatible with many home equipment, from Somfy & major home equipment brands. You can add them when you start the adventure, or later at anytime.

    During the first installation of your box, you will be guided by the app to pair products and devices.

    You can also add new smart home product at anytime in the app by clicking in the “My home” menu.

    Add a favourite

     

    Go to the “My favourites” menu (star icon).

     

     

     

    Click on "Add a favorite" button

     

     

     

    Choose your favorite

     

    Then click on the item(s) you want to add:

     
    • An equipment
     
    • A room
     
    • A scene
     

     

    Size your widget

     

    Once selected, choose the display size of your favorite from 3 widget options:

     

    1. Small icon: To quickly access your equipment

     
     

    2. Medium icon: In order to be able to control the essential

     
     

    3. Large icon: To have all the functions at your fingertips

     
     

     

    It is add to your favorite

     

    The TaHoma® app automatically rearranges the layout of your favorites based on their size.

     
     

     

    Tip

     

    It is also possible to directly add items to your favorites by simply clicking on the star icon on their respective usage screen.

     


     

     

     

    Create a group of favorites

     

    You can also add equipment groups to your favorites! Indeed, it is possible to gather products from the same category within a multiple favorite. For example, all the shutters on the south facade.

     

    Go to the “My favourites” menu (star icon).

     

     

     

    Click on "Add a favorite" button

     

     

     

    On the "Equipment" tab, select category with multiple products

     

    NB: Equipment belonging to different categories cannot be grouped together.

     
     

     

    Select the ones to include in the creation of your group of favorites!

    To customize one of your favorites, long-press on its icon/widget. You will then have the possibility to:

     
    • Move: Easily move the selected icon/widget to the desired location in order to change the order of your favorites.
    • Change the size: Adjust the display size of your favorite.
    • Delete: Delete a favorite (Note: If you delete a product from the favorites, it will still be accessible from the home menu).

    Go to the "…" menu, then "Preferences and notifications" and "Preferred default menu". 

    Now you can choose which menu you want to land on when opening your TaHoma app: ​

  • How to create widgets with the TaHoma app?​ (0) 31.03.2025

     

    iOS users

     

    To create a TaHoma widget on an iPhone, follow the steps below: ​

     

    1. Set up widgets from my smartphone shortcut

     
     
    • Open the "Shortcuts" app
    • ​Click on "+"​
    • Type "TaHoma" in the search bar​
    • Configure the shortcut with the chosen actions (ex: launch "Morning" scene)​

    2. Add widgets as shortcut on your smartphone

     
     
    • Make a long press from your phone's homepage ​
    • Click on the "+" that appeared in the top left corner​
    • Select "Shortcuts"​
    • Select the widget you want to add​
    • Place on your home screen​

    It's done! Now you can modify your widget by doing a long press on it.

     
     

    Android users

     

    To create a TaHoma widget on an Android phone, follow the steps below :​

     
    • Tap and hold a blank space on your Android home screen.
    • Select Widgets from the pop-up menu.
    • Choose TaHoma
    • Next, tap and drag the right size of the widget you want to add on your home screen
    • TaHoma will open and you will be able to choose the product or the scene you wish to have as widget

    It's done! Your widget will be visible on your phone's homepage​.

     

     

  • What are the minimum compatible OS supported by the TaHoma by Somfy app? (0) 31.03.2025

     

    The TaHoma by Somfy app supports the following OS versions: ​

    • iOS 15 and greater​
    • Android 8 and greater ​ ​


    Previous versions of iOS or Android OS are not supported by TaHoma by Somfy anymore. If you are using a previous version of the OS, TaHoma app updates will not be compatible to you but you will still be able to use the app (for an undefined period).

  • Will Somfy have access to the control of my equipment? Can Somfy open and close my curtain from the server? (39) 09.11.2022

    Your installers does not have access to your equipment.
    Support administrators at Somfy do NOT have access into the database to view nor operate your equipment.
    We assign high level administrative technician to troubleshoot in case of emergency, he /she must follow standard protocol in order to view the information, normally it is not necessary to operate the equipment. 

  • I have a big house (3 storey), how many Tahoma do I need? (30) 09.11.2022

    Zigbee & RTS technology are long range radio protocol. One single Tahoma will be able to cover home until 300sqm and more. 

  • How many phones / Tablets can be connected to a Tahoma? How do I share control? (24) 09.11.2022

    We recommend max 10 users at the same time. All the user will share the same login and will automatically share all the control of the RTS & Zigbee devices.

  • In case of power failure / router reset, will my setting lost? (21) 09.11.2022

    No, your configuration would not be lost because setting are saved in the hub and in the Somfy cloud.

  • Can I set password to protect the configuration setting? (15) 09.11.2022

    Password is not required to change setting for allowing easy changes to suit your regular updates. However password is required for login

  • With Tahoma, can I still use my RTS remote control? (20) 09.11.2022

    Yes, Situo or Telis remote are handily, also it would be easier for your guests to operate without accessing to your phone. 

  • What if my router is not working (No Wifi & No Internet), will it impact Tahoma? (29) 09.11.2022

    An offline mode is available in case of internet failure. Just logging locally using Tahoma Living.

  • Do I need to enable “Location Services” on my phone ? (14) 09.11.2022

    Only if you want the most accurate Sunrise/Sunset offset.

  • Is it compatible with iPad and Tablet ? (15) 09.11.2022

    Tahoma application is compatible with Android tablets and iPad.

  • What if I forget my login password ? (16) 09.11.2022

    Go to www.somfy-connect.com and select "Lost your password ?"  to recover your access credentials.

  • Tahoma status icon is showing a red dot. What should I do? (18) 09.11.2022

    Your gateway is not connected to internet. Check your Router and make sure of Internet connection.

  • How to change blind movement immediately after pressing either up or down. (11) 09.11.2022

    Press "Stop",  select the blind again and then the desired direction Up / Down. 

  • Cannot trigger the second scenario when the first scenario is still running (8) 09.11.2022

    When there is an ambiance still running, the second ambiance will only be executed after the first scenario is  finished.

  • If I change my phone, do I need to re-config my setting ? (15) 09.11.2022

    No, all your configuration are stored in the hub and in the Somfy Cloud.
    1. Download and install the app on the new phone. 
    2. Login with your password, input user name & update GPS location.
    Ready to use.

  • If I change the user name, can I keep my scenario or timed Program ? (18) 09.11.2022

    No. You need to recreate the scenario with new user name.

  • Tahoma Living app does it always require 4G connection? (11) 09.11.2022

    No. Tahoma living can work with local Wi-Fi also.

  • Can I control and monitor my home via Wi-Fi at the office? (10) 09.11.2022

    Yes, as long has the office Wi-Fi grant you an internet access.

  • Can you control awning and gates with Tahoma? (12) 09.11.2022

    Of course. We can control all motorized applications in RTS technology, so yes awning and louvre included.

    Tahoma Living app allow to have until 40 scenario.

    The recommended maximum number of devices is 50.
